Brockington historian appointed to Winder Historic Preservation Commission

Brockington and Associates senior historian F. Patricia Stallings was recently appointed by the Mayor and City Council to the Winder Historic Preservation Commission in Winder, Ga.

Stallings, who holds an MA in History and a Preservation Studies Certificate from University of Georgia, and a BA in History from North Georgia College, has been employed with Brockington since 2002.  A graduate of the 2009 Institute for Georgia Environmental Leadership, Stallings serves as the program manager for history projects in Brockington’s Atlanta office.  Stallings is also a founding member of the Barrow Preservation Society.

Stallings will serve on the seven-member commission for a term of three years. The commission’s mission is to protect, enhance and perpetuate properties of historical value, stimulate the revitalization of historic neighborhoods and business districts, and to support opportunities for federal tax relief and tax credits. The commission coordinates through the city’s Planning Department to review all proposed new development and exterior renovations within Winder’s historic district for compatibility and appropriateness.
